Polyurethane systems – also known as “DD coatings” (for Desmodur® / Desmophen®) – have established themselves in numerous applications.

The portfolio of Bayer MaterialScience’s polyurethanes offers polyisocyanates and polyols for almost every property profile. Coating or adhesive systems can adjust exactly to the requirements of the final product. Whether crosslinkers for two-component polyurethane coatings and adhesives, blocked polyisocyanates for one-component polyurethane baking coatings or hydrophilized polyisocyanates as crosslinkers for water-reducible polyurethane systems, our products are used wherever crosslinking is required to achieve high resistances and reliable adhesion under efficient conditions.
Aromatic polyisocyanates are used for primers, adhesives and indoor applications, whereas aliphatic polyisocyanates can be used universally. You can find our products in applications like automotive OEM and refinish coating and the coating of transportation vehicles, wood, industrial goods, in coil and can coating, corrosion protection and plastics. They are also used in reactive adhesives, textile coating and construction applications. With a bit of clever formulation, coatings with easy-to-clean, soft-touch or reflow properties can be produced as well.
