Pergut® chlorinated rubber – for a good initial bond strength
Pergut® is the trade name of a group of powdered chlorinated polymers. This independent adhesive system can be employed e.g. as a heavy duty rubber-to-metal adhesive for a wide range of applications.
The proprietary Bayer MaterialScience process guarantees that the product has an extremely low content of tetrachloromethane (C Cl4 ). Pergut® contains less than 0.005% pbw (= < 50 ppm) of tetrachloromethane and complies with all regulatory requirements worldwide.
Pergut® chlorinated rubber is supplied as a white powder. It contains between 64.5% and 67% of chlorine and has a density of 1.6 g/cm3. The molecular weight – and consequently the viscosity - differentiates the individual grades.
The grades S 20 to S 90 are primarily used as as anti corrosion paints and as additives in solvent based contact adhesives. The high viscosity grades S 130 and S 170 are often employed as raw materials for rubber-metal adhesion.
