VOC–compliant coating systems based on polyurethane raw materials

No Compromise on Performance
Bayer MaterialScience offers four groups of raw materials for the formulation of modern, low-VOC coatings:

  • Waterborne technology
The use of raw materials based on water as a solvent. This technology is gaining more and more importance.

  • High solids raw materials
Another approach is the use of low viscosity raw materials with a high content of solids (High Solids).

  • UV-Systems
UV-Systems offer advantages for the reduction of VOC as well, if the geometry of the parts to be coated and the coatings equipment are suitable for this technology.

  • Powder Coatings
Powder coatings are yet another option to avoid solvent emission. In addition, their overspray can easily be recycled.

For low-VOC coatings Bayer MaterialScience has been developing high quality raw materials for all of these systems for the last two decades already. Their properties are comparable to the ones of traditional solvent-based coating systems. In some specific properties they perform even better.
