Waterborne adhesive systems – environmentally friendly solutions for adhesives without sacrificing performance

It makes sense to avoid organic solvents in adhesive systems not only for environmental protection reasons but also because it simplifies occupational health protection measures. With Bayer MaterialScience's polyurethane and polychloroprene based dispersions waterborne adhesives can be produced without any compromises in terms of processing and properties of the finished adhesive. Some properties even exceed the ones of solvent based adhesives.
These dispersions can be processed as one-component-system or in combination with additional reactive components as two-component system. Two-component systems are often the best solution if certain properties have to be adjusted or finetuned for a specific property or in order to meet certain processing requirements.

In addition, latent-reactive polyurethane systems can be used as dispersions, as precoatings and as reactive adhesive films.
